Cathy Jaggars is running to serve—not for politics as usual, but to stand up for working families, protect our children, and ensure every voice in our community is heard. As a Marine veteran and Guardian ad Litem, she has spent her life putting others first. Now, she’s ready to bring that same commitment to leadership that delivers real results for the people of South Carolina.
About Cathy Jaggars
Cathy Jaggars has spent her life serving others. A 20-year U.S. Marine Corps veteran, she rose through the ranks as a leader in communications, administration, and substance abuse prevention programs, ultimately serving as a commanding officer before retiring with honor.
After her military service, Cathy continued her commitment to community by working in healthcare, substance use treatment, and social services. She later served families and children in need through the Department of Social Services and now volunteers as a Guardian ad Litem, advocating for children in the foster care system.
Now living in Dorchester County near her children and grandchildren, Cathy remains dedicated to making a difference. Her lifetime of service—both in uniform and in her community—drives her campaign to fight for working families, protect vulnerable children, and build a stronger future for South Carolina.

Affordable Healthcare for All
Cathy will fight to expand Medicaid and ensure that every South Carolinian has access to affordable, quality healthcare. She believes no one should have to choose between seeing a doctor and paying their bills. By expanding coverage and supporting policies that lower costs, Cathy will work to make healthcare accessible for working families, seniors, and those who need it most.
Supporting Working Families
Cathy will champion policies that support working families, including expanding access to affordable, high-quality childcare. She knows that too many parents are working hard but still struggling to afford care for their children. By investing in childcare solutions, Cathy will help families stay in the workforce, strengthen our economy, and give every child a strong start.
Protecting Children & Vulnerable Communities
Cathy will be a strong advocate for children and vulnerable populations across South Carolina. Drawing on her experience as a Guardian ad Litem, she understands firsthand the challenges many families face. Cathy will work to strengthen protections for children, support families in crisis, and defend the rights and dignity of all people—including those who are too often overlooked or underserved.
Fighting Hunger & Expanding Opportunity
Cathy will take on food insecurity and work to ensure that no child or family goes hungry. She will support programs that provide reliable access to nutritious food while also investing in education so every child has the opportunity to succeed. Cathy believes that when we meet basic needs and invest in our children, we build stronger communities for everyone.
